Daniel Ludwig
Daniel Ludwig is a watercolor artist based in the desert Southwest. He was raised surrounded by the red rocks outside of Las Vegas, Nevada, spent his college years in Cedar City, Utah, and has lived in New Mexico most of his adult life.
As far as he's concerned, it doesn't get any better for a landscape painter than the Colorado Plateau. He travels this area searching for inspiration - sometimes drawn to structures, sometimes to the breathtaking landscape, most of the time showing a certain irreverence for his subjects. Daniel is not concerned with being a serious artist, but focuses on having fun with his chosen medium and the chance it affords him to spend time in his beloved Southwest. Not limited to landscapes, he enjoys painting whatever piques his interest.
Daniel hopes to involve the viewer in his paintings by suggesting the feeling or emotion of a subject rather than recording in exact detail what he is observing. At times, literal forms are left to the imagination.
The marketing and selling of his paintings are not his favorite part of the process, but it brings him great joy to put his paintings in the care of people who like them for the same reasons he painted them.
